It is understandable with hundreds of mobile DJ's listed in the phone book many people just select the cheapest option. We are all familiar with the "Phoenix Nights" type entertainment companies from past experience. The DJ shouting over the microphone, playing often the most hackneyed and tastless music.

Basically the key is treating every wedding individually & pre planning rather than a production line or free for all approach. You can have as much input into song selection as you like. The Music Planner will give you lists of the most popular songs by genre or decade. You can add other, personal favorites too that we might not have included.

Bride and Groom - First Dances for Wedding Parties.

We are often asked for advice about choice of the first dance for wedding parties. To help with selection we have created a compilation of some songs that work well, as well as a couple of more off the wall ideas for the adventurous.

Traditionally it would be a slow "smoocher" with a suitable sentiment. This is also good if you are not confident dancers - often the groom want's to get this over with and get back to the safety of the bar!

As it is early in the evening it is also advisable to go for something fairly traditional as after this dance parents & couples will be planning to follow you. So if you had planned to play the Chemical Brothers it may be better to save that until later in the night.

Our compilation is not exhaustive with only 12 songs - most of which are soul ballads but should help in your decision making process. We have included a couple of uptempo love songs like the Cure's Lovecats and Chuck Berry's You Never Can Tell (from Pulp Fiction) - something like this could be fun but you'll need to have a dance routine worked out in advance.

Advice on things like this and set up of the room for music is available from the consultation stage right up to the wedding day. We have plenty of experience to call upon having DJ'd at many types of wedding party from traditional to totally alternative. Don't rule out something you would like to do on the grounds of convention - it is your day but do think about it first.

Background Music For Wedding Receptions

We can create a background CD for during the reception. This can be good for times when people are waiting for the bride and groom during photos and during the meal itself.

Venues can provide these for you but sometimes they can be rather "cheesy".

Services like this are provided by us free of charge as part of the overall service if you choose to use our company for your wedding music.
